I graduated from Ranken Technical College. I started with a free online course a few years back and when I had a chance I decided to go to school for it to make it my career.

What can I do?

I know how to make websites in Visual Studio Code using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript. In my second semester I learned C# on Visual Studio. In my third semester I learned SQL, database design, and MVC working on Visual Studio. In my forth and final semester I learned JSON, React, and Node.JS. After I finished school, I took an online course to learn WordPress, and I am currently working on an online course to learn Figma as well.

In the first semester I built multiple websites from scratch using different tools. I learned the basics of web design in the first half of the semester. This helped me build basic websites with perfect functionality. I learned JavaScript in the second half of the semester. Thanks to this, I was able to create different tools such as a game, unit converter, among others. Later in the portfolio, there are examples of my work. You can look at my first and second semester work here.

In the second semester I learned how to code in C# using Visual Studio. I also learned object-oriented programming. In this semester I also started learning the basics of coding in databases, which I started deep diving more into in my third semester. You can look at my first and second semester work here.

In my third semester I learned how to program with ASP.NET Core MVC. I also learned how to work with model binding, Razor views, as well as session cookies. This was the semester I had a deeper look into databases and how they work. You can see all my semester work here.

WordPress

I took an online class after I graduated to learn how to make a website on WordPress. I made a few different types of websites with WordPress and will post screenshots of said websites in the "My Works" page below.

I am taking another online course to learn Figma. I learned that I really enjoyed working on the frontend of websites rather than the backend, so i am trying to learn as much as I can related to frontend work. When I have finished work from Figma, it will be posted in the "My Works" page below.

About Me

My name is Erin Vinas Layne, I am from St. Louis, Missouri, but I am currently living Galicia Spain. I am 28 Years old and I graduated from Ranken Technical College in December 2024. I was never interested in following a college career. However, I saw my dad dedicate most of his time to web design and I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in this field. I did not come to school empty handed, I did a couple of online courses to have a basic understanding of the matter. I am still actively taking online courses to keep up with a changing world.

I think going into this field, it will help me grow as a person, as well as make my artistic side more extensive.
